Scotland – Lochs and Bens Bicycle Tour (2024)

SCOTLAND: Lochs and Bens Bicycle Tour 8 days and 7 nights' accommodation in bed & breakfast in twin/double or single rooms with shower/wc facilities in 3- or 4-star guesthouses. Included is tour is the information that includes maps and detailed route description, luggage transportation (maximum one piece up to 18 kg) and emergency support if necessary. This relatively easy 173-255 km tour has some flat days and some days with moderate hills. On the route you will see towering mountain peaks, shimmering lochs and romantic glens marking this route. There are forest walks and nature trails, castles and other ancient monuments. The fast flowing River Tay is a frequent companion beginning in Perth and continuing through Dunkeld (Dunkeld and Birnam are two adjacent towns in Perth and Kinross, Scotland. They lie on opposite banks of the River Tay, and were first linked by a bridge built in 1809 by Thomas Telford. The two places lie close to the Highland Boundary Fault, which marks the geological boundary between the Highlands and the Lowlands, and are frequently described as the "Gateway to the Highlands" due to their position on the main road)  and onto Aberfeldy to the beautiful scenery of Killin and Loch Tay. Visit historic Dunkeld, with its preserved square and ancient Cathedral and the peaceful loch side towns of Kenmore, Killin, Lochearnhead and St Fillans. A rest day at Killin is included to allow time to visit the Falls of Dochart or cycle into beautiful Glen Lochay and Glen Lyon. So much to see, but the moderate cycling distances allows ample time for exploring.
