After Tyrol, you’ll reach Bavaria, where you leave the mountains behind, and the hilly foothills of the Alps begin. Famous royal castles sit enthroned in Füssen, whilst in Schongau, the historical old town is a delight. The river leads on, through the medieval town of Landsberg am Lech, to one of the oldest cities in Germany, Augsburg, with beautiful monuments from many eras.
